Terms of Service

These terms govern use of the Housify software and website provided by Housify Holdings LLC (“Housify”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you are using Housify for a company, you confirm you can bind that company.

1. The service

Housify is property management software: records, ledgers, documents, e-signing, accounting, bank feeds, messaging and portals. We will provide it with reasonable care and skill, keep it available except for maintenance and events outside our control, and tell you about material changes before they take effect.

2. Your account

You are responsible for the people you invite, the roles you give them and what they do. Keep sign-in details private and tell us at once about any unauthorised use. You must be at least 18 and may only use the service for lawful property management.

3. Your data

You own the data you put into Housify. You give us the licence we need to host, process, back up and display it to provide the service, and to send the messages you ask us to send. You are responsible for having the right to enter it — in particular, for telling your tenants and owners how their information is used. Our privacy policy describes how we handle it. You can export your data at any time in Excel and PDF, and ask us to delete it when you leave.

4. Documents, signatures and legal forms

Housify produces leases, notices, disclosures and court forms from templates and from your data, and collects electronic signatures that are intended to satisfy the federal E-SIGN Act and state electronic-transactions laws. Housify is not a law firm, does not give legal advice, and is not responsible for the legal sufficiency of any document in your jurisdiction or for the outcome of any proceeding. Review every document before you send or file it, and consult a lawyer when you are unsure.

5. Accounting and banking

Housify keeps books and matches bank transactions from the data you and your bank provide. It is not an accounting firm and does not give tax advice. You are responsible for the accuracy of your books and filings. Bank connections are provided through Teller and Plaid under their terms; Housify never holds your bank credentials and cannot move money without an action you take in the app.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use Housify to break the law, to harass anyone, to send messages the recipient has not agreed to receive, to probe or overload the service, or to resell it. We may suspend access that we reasonably believe endangers the service or other customers, and we will tell you why.

7. Fees

Paid plans are billed as agreed in your quote, monthly in advance, and can be cancelled at the end of any billing month. Fees do not include sales tax where it applies. If a payment fails we will give you notice and a reasonable time to fix it before restricting the account.

8. Third-party services

The service relies on providers named in the privacy policy. Their availability is outside our control; we choose them with care and will tell you if one changes in a way that affects you.

9. Warranties and liability

The service is provided “as is” to the extent the law allows. We do not promise it will be error-free, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of data that you could have exported. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Ending the agreement

You can close your account at any time. We can end the agreement on 30 days' notice, or at once if you materially breach these terms. After the account closes you have 60 days to export your data before it is deleted, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.

11. General

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia and disputes will be heard in its courts. If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app and on this page at least 14 days before they take effect.
